Join African American Writers & Artists for an inspiring afternoon celebrating the creativity of local artists during our 2026 Black History Month Art Contest Awards & Recognition Ceremony, commemorating the 100-year anniversary of Negro History Week, the foundation of Black History Month.
African American Writers & Artists (AAW&A) invites the community to join us for the 2026 Black History Month Art Contest Awards & Recognition Ceremony on April 11 from 3–5 PM at the Malcolm X Library.
This special event celebrates the creativity, talent, and cultural storytelling of the artists who submitted work for this year's contest. In recognition of the 100th anniversary of Negro History Week, this year’s program honors the legacy of Black history while uplifting the voices and artistic expression of today’s creators.
