Get ready for the AAUWMI 2026 Spring Convention—fun, learning, and connections all in person!About this Event
Welcome to the AAUWMI 2026 Spring Convention!
Get ready for an exciting in-person gathering filled with inspiration, connection, and growth. To be clear, this is a two-day event. Friday, April 24, 2026, will have an optional local bus tour in the afternoon and a Dinner Reception in the evening. Saturday, April 25, 2026, will be the Convention and Annual Meeting. Seating for all these events is limited, so please book early.
Join fellow members and friends to explore new ideas, share experiences, and build lasting relationships. Don’t miss out on the fun and opportunities that the AAUWMI 2026 Spring Convention has in store, with our theme, Educate to Elevate: Women Leading the Way.
On Friday Afternoon, you can join the Battle Creek AAUW Branch on a historic and character-filled church bus adventure through town. They are proud to spotlight their Underground Railroad and Sojourner Truth roots; celebrate Kellogg, Post and Ralston cereal inventors; note the peculiar sanitarium and religious village it inspired; visit Kimball House; and much more. On this tour, you'll meet HOPE, AAUW-commissioned sculpture at Kellogg Community College, then pop into their beloved downtown used book site and visitors center/museum, and conclude with a snack stop at Horrocks! Step back in time with us through fascinating stories, unique sites, warm camaraderie and joyful entertainment!
On Friday Evening, you can join your friends and colleagues for a night of entertainment at the Friday Dinner Reception, featuring a cash bar, full dinner buffet, Golden Anniversary Awards, honoring members who have passed and playing trivia and winning great prizes!
On Saturday Morning, enjoy a full breakfast before the convention begins with an announcement that will impact all AAUW members, statewide -- be the first to hear! Then listen to Keynote Tremayne Parquet, Deputy Director of Advancement for AAUW (National), discuss the new strategic plan for AAUW. You will have an opportunity to ask questions of Tremayne, as a representative of our national affiliate. We will wrap up Saturday morning with multiple breakout session options.
On Saturday Afternoon, we will start with a delicious lunch, our statewide awards and another special announcement, followed by our Annual Membership Meeting and voting, installation of officers, and an introduction to our incoming state president, Barb Duran. After a brief break and snacks, we will resume with a panel discussion from current and former Fellow recipients from AAUW and their educational journey. Finally, we will hear closing remarks from our current state president, Amy Shamroe.
We invite you to make a long weekend out of this opportunity and stick around after the convention for a delicious meal and a night of entertainment. We encourage you to turn this into a girls' weekend or a couple's refuge.
