The Spotlight Series is The Spot’s monthly stand-up showcase dedicated entirely to local comics who are leveling up — the ones writing real material, building real sets, and earning real audiences.
HEADLINER:
Aaron Montez began performing stand-up comedy in Lexington at just 16 years old.
Known for his laid-back yet in-your-face delivery, he blends sharp absurdity with grounded, relatable storytelling that keeps diverse audiences leaning in.
He has performed in clubs, private events, and festivals across the country, sharing the stage with Mike Epps, April Macie, Ian Bagg, Greg Warren, Preacher Lawson, Chris Redd, Jiaoying Summers, Jay Pharoah, and John Witherspoon.
A multiple-time competition winner, he holds eight comedy titles, including Open Mic Madness Champion and Funniest Person in Lexington.
With strong stage control, high energy, and an unpredictable perspective, he makes every set feel fresh while keeping the room fully engaged.
This is part comedy show, part discovery night, and part community gathering for Lexington’s growing comedy scene.
