A three-time winner of the APRA Composition Competition and recipient of the Recorded Music NZ Te Kaipuoro Tautito Toa | Best Jazz Music Artist award with his group The Jac, Callum needs no introduction.
This tour celebrates his latest quartet album, โElementa,โ a compelling follow-up to his acclaimed album for jazz orchestra and strings, โCinematic Light Orchestra,โ both recorded during his composer residency at Te Kลkฤซ New Zealand School of Music. Drawing influences from Blonde Redhead, Brian Blade, and Terrence Blanchard, the new album is imbued with moody cinematic drama and features folksy, song-like melodies set over rich, sweeping harmony.
Callum is joined by local Sydney legends Thomas Botting (bass), Luke Sweeting (piano), and Wellington based Drummer Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa.
