ABOUT KIKIMORA (9:30-10:15 PM)
Hailing by way of Argentina and El Paso, TX, Kikimora has been compared to the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper, and Charlotte Day Wilson. The sultry vocals and shrewd lyrics of singer-songwriter/guitarist, Hayley, the improvisational instincts of keyboardist, Leo, the tasteful grooves of lead guitarist, Ed Ramos, and the powerful rhythm section comprised of Jericho Cagle (bass) and Eric Boseman (percussion), makes their music live up to their namesake, a playful or mischievous spirit.
ABOUT IGIMÈJÍ (10:30-11:15 PM)
Kayla Scales (vocals, piano, keys) and Oladipo Oyediran (guitar, vocals, drums) started working together musically in fall of 2016 in North Texas. It started with a couple jam sessions, then before they knew it they had a couple songs. From there, a budding friendship and love forged through musical creativity emerged.
In 2017, they moved to Kathmandu, Nepal and started giving performances at a local bar named Booze Belly. It was then that Igimèjí was truly born! They wrote their first single "Magic" while still in the Kathmandu Valley, a song that details the beauty, pain, and setbacks of those months living in Nepal. In 2018, the music duo returned to Dallas-Fort Worth, where they immediately decided to continue the performance career they started in Nepal. They gave performances everywhere they could, from the living rooms of close friends to known stages such as Curtain Club and M.A.S.S and gradually made a name for themselves. Soon they added Jelen Farrow (drums) and Uzoma Aharanwa (bass) to fill out their R&B, rock fusion sound.
