About this Event

SEL Specialist Sara Swartz will present this course designed to support school leaders in understanding the effects of burnout and compassion fatigue that their staff may encounter as the first responders to student trauma. Participants will be provided resources and strategies that can be used as interventions and/or preventative measures to implement with their staff. At the end of the academy, participants will walk away with strategies and tools to implement in their schools to reduce or prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. It is encouraged that school leaders bring their support staff personnel (school counselors, social workers, teachers, etc.) so that a team approach can be utilized when developing an implementation plan.

Pre-work will be given the week before in order to alleviate Zoom fatigue on the day of the event. Please prepare to have this completed prior to the session.

We will meet on Zoom at 8:30 AM on June 4th. Please ensure that you are in a place where you have a strong internet connection. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants prior to the event.
