A talk with Local historians David Fovargue and Andrew Smith. Listen to the stories of the people, places and industries that helped to create the village. Find out if you live where they used to make 200,000 bricks a day. Discover the memories of people that manned the railway or farmed its fields.
The talk will feature photos and slides too.
This is also a great chance to ask questions about Eye that you always wanted to know.
When: Friday 27th of September
Time: 7:00-9:30pm
Where: Manor Farm Community Centre, 70 High St, Eye, Peterborough PE6 7UY or opposite the Doctor's surgery.
Free but donations welcome & no need to book.
This talk is part of Digging Down, Building Up which is being funded by Historic England’s Everyday Heritage grant programme, celebrating working class histories
Access Information:
The venue is wheelchair accessible and there are no steps into the venue.
There is a small car park at the front of the venue which is ideal for anyone who has a blue badge or needs easy access. There is a bigger car park at the back of the venue.
There will be a frame/ sign outside signposting attendees.
The talk is taking place in the main hall and there will be seats. The photos and some of the talk will be projected onto a screen.
Toilets are available and there is one that is wheelchair accessible.
