Estonia has very cold winters, hence we are used to make and wear woolen everything. Nowadays more and more people are rising sheep and working to add value to the raw wool. New small wool mills are emerging and farmers are interested in maintaining the old local breeds.During this wool study tour we will visit some sheep farmers and wool mills of Estonia. We will also visit some handicrafters, who are using wool in an artistic way. There is a wonderful academy in Viljandi, where you can study many heritage crafts. We will see their premises and hear about their work.
The price is 1500 euros and it includes:
• visits to 4 farms, 4 smal wool mills, 3 craft studios.
• 1 knitting workshop, materials and tools included.
• a tour in Viljandi Culture Academy and a 2 hour presentation on Estonian sheep, wool and learning heritage technologies.
• 3 nights in two different hotels double-room with breakfasts.
• lunches and dinners in local restaurants (excluding drinks).
• Bus transportation during the whole tour starting from Tallinn.
A single room is available for an extra 150 EUR per tour. PayPal payments will have an extra 80-85 EUR fee.
