UPCOMING:
Learn more about Irish Mummers!
Free Training
Suggested for ages 12 through adults.
Beginning in January 2026, you’re invited to join us at The Mask Center for a special opportunity to learn about Ireland’s ancient masked folk theatre. Our troupe has a long and storied history, performing throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Highlands, the Islands of Scotland, Denmark, and the United States - including Atlanta at events like Celtic Christmas. You are now invited to be a part of this tradition.
In these one-hour sessions at 11 a.m. on Saturdays, you’ll learn the rich history and traditions of the Mummers. The journey culminates with an opportunity to join Gateway’s Irish Mummer troupe and march with us in Atlanta’s 2026 St. Patrick’s Parade!
No experience is necessary, just curiosity and/or a passion for history and culture. Be a part of this unique community experience and help us bring a piece of Irish tradition to the streets of Atlanta. Attend as many sessions as you can. Attendance at every session is not required. Dates: Saturdays at 11 am at The Mask Center: Jan. 24, Feb.7, Feb. 21, March 7, and March 14 for those who wish to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Training includes the opportunity to:
- Learn the historical context and unique style of Irish Mumming.
- Master the performance skills needed to become a mummer.
- Participate in the 2026 Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade as an official member of the Gateway Irish Mummers!
