A Walk through TimeSunday April 26 at 3:00 PM
Discover how millions of years of geological forces shaped the New England landscape we know today. Join us at the Joshua Hyde Public Library in Sturbridge MA for a special presentation led by geoarchaeologist Alan Smith, who serves on Opacum Land Trust’s board of directors. This program will trace New England’s geological evolution, including discussions on plate tectonics, glaciation and shifting coastlines, and will connect these processes to Native American history in the region.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how geological changes influenced human history in New England. Whether you’re interested in history, geology, archaeology or land conservation, this program offers a fascinating look into the stories written in the landscape around us.
