About this Event
Halifax has an incredible wealth of surviving listed Victorian public, civic, commercial and industrial buildings in and around a fairly compact centre close to its Grade II railway station and also its famous Grade I Georgian 'Piece Hall'
Join Mike Ashworth outside the railway station for a walk to see the town's Victorian highlights, including its central market, and finishing at the Piece Hall where there are ample opportunities afterwards for browsing, refreshments and further sightseeing.
The Calderdale Industrial Museum (linked to the Piece Hall) is open on Saturdays from 10.00 to 16.00, giving the opportunity after the tour to find out more about the town's industrial history - from carpets to chocolates and 'cats eyes' - and see the machinery, products and mementos of the town and its surroundings.
