Music at Old St. Hilary’s is excited to present a tribute to legendary Windham Hill guitarist Michael Hedges, featuring Teja Gerken, Michael Manring, Janet Noguera, and Jeff Titus. A pioneer of the modern acoustic guitar, Hedges (who passed away in 1997) was known for his extended playing techniques, groundbreaking arrangements, and best-selling albums such as Breakfast in the Field and Aerial Boundaries. For this concert, acclaimed Bay Area fingerstyle guitarists Teja Gerken, Janet Noguera, and Jeff Titus play pieces by, and inspired by Hedges on a variety of guitars and harp guitars. A former touring and recording partner of Hedges, electric bass virtuoso Michael Manring will play solo and ensemble pieces, and flautist Larry Kassin will appear as a special guest.
