We are part of A Town Explores A Book - a unique community arts festival which this year explores Gideon Mantell's scientific writing of 1825 naming the Iguanodon species. Our doors will be open to the public on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 April when visitors can drop in and take part in a number of roar-some activities:
🦖 THE EVOLUTION OF THE IGUANODON - AN ANIMATED FILM
Take part in a collaborative animated filmmaking project! The finished film will tell the story of the evolution of the Iguanodon, from the Big Bang 💥, to the emergence of simple life forms 🦠, to the Iguanodon itself. Visitors will be invited to select a moment from a timeline we have prepared of key moments in the story, to animate. All the animations created by you will then be edited together into a final, complete film with film score and voice over! 🎬
🦕 WALK WITH YOUR IGUANODON
Draw your own Iguanodon. Then bring your drawing to life at our filming station, where, using a combination of various film special effect techniques – from the very old (forced perspective and mattes) to the more modern (green screen) you will have an encounter with your iguanodon on film! 🎥
There will be a play area for under 5s upstairs, and we'll be screening a dinosaur related film in our mini-cinema.
This is a free family event. The film activities are best suited to children aged 5+.
