This is a class for anyone interested in learning techniques and working on their own skill and style. This class, while emulating some of the impressionists and expressionists, will provide a lot of information for an individual's own work and style. "It is said that imitation is the highest form of flattery”. It’s also the best way to learn different techniques and styles that you can later apply to your own work.
That said, in this 5 week class, let’s explore some painters who fall within the era of Modern Art: Cezanne, Matisse, Kahlo, Kandinsky, and others that we may come across.
We’ll emulate their work in our own studies of color, tint, shadow, balance, and form.
It will be a great class for anyone wanting to get their feet wet in the big pool of paint for the first time and for those who would like to continue with their painting experience and learn a little about impressionism and expressionism which will inform and enhance their own paintings.
Cost: $45/class, so you don’t have to come to all 5 classes to learn something
