About this Event

Join the World Affairs Council of Miami on Thurs, April 3, 2025 from 11:00am - 1:00pm in partnership with Miami Dade College - Wolfson Campus and Miami Dade College Honors College for a Mark Samuelian Distinguished Speaker Series talk with Special Envoy Mauricio Claver-Carone on U.S. Strategy Toward Latin America.
As the second Trump administration develops its foreign policy toward Latin America, key questions arise about the role of the United States in our Hemisphere. How will Washington address antagonistic states such as Venezuela and Cuba? What approach will the administration take toward economic empowerment, transnational crime, migration, and broader regional security? And how will the U.S. position itself amid rising great power competition with China in the Americas?
Don't miss an insightful conversation with U.S. Special Envoy Claver-Carone, as he provides first hand perspective on the new administration’s developing priorities and how they may shape the political and economic trajectory of our supercontinent. From regional hotspots to broader transnational challenges, this event will serve as a vital opportunity to learn about the ideas and actions that will define a new era of U.S.-Latin America relations for years to come.
