The Ethan Allen Homestead Museum presents our Free Monthly Lecture: "A Tale of Two Trails: Following in the Footsteps of the Knox Expedition" by historian and author Benjamin Smith.
This event is in-person in the museum's tavern. Free for all to attend. Complimentary refreshments provided. The program will be recorded by CCTV and later available on the museum's YouTube channel (@EthanAllenHomestead).

ABOUT THIS MONTH'S LECTURE:
In 2012, Benjamin Smith hiked from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston, following in the footsteps of Henry Knox and his “noble train of artillery.” Years later, he provides a reflective, insightful, and occasionally humorous look back at traveling the TWO Knox trails: the one actually traversed by the Knox expedition in 1775 and 1776, and the one created by the placement of historical markers in the 1920s.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Benjamin Smith is a professional writer and editor—as well as a lifelong history enthusiast. Previously, he served as managing editor for both American Revolution Magazine and Civil War Historian magazine. Today, he serves as president and grant proposal writer for the Arnold Expedition Historical Society; edits the Maine Archaeological Society’s newsletter; and copyedits Archaeology of Eastern North America, published by the Eastern States Archeological Federation. He is also a member of the Cape Porpoise Archaeological Alliance. Benjamin resides in Wells, Maine.
