About this Event

Heart Comonos and Mississauga Tai Chi Journey warmly invite you to an evening of

inner exploration and gentle movement. Discover how the ancient arts of Tai Chi and

Qigong can help you slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your natural rhythm.

In today’s fast-paced world, we often live “from the neck up,” caught in thought and

tension. Tai Chi and Qigong help us return to the body — to feel the quiet strength that

flows beneath movement, the stillness within motion. Through “mindful breathing, soft

flowing postures, and calm awareness, you will experience how energy (Qi) begins to

flow more freely, bringing renewed vitality, clarity, and peace.

No prior experience is needed — simply a willingness to move gently, breathe deeply,

and be open to a sense of harmony that radiates from the inside out.

About our Facilitators

Patrick Leung — Senior Instructor, Tai Chi Journey

Patrick Leung is the Senior Instructor of Tai Chi Journey, where he teaches Tai Chi, Lok Hup (Liuhebafa), and Qigong with remarkable depth, clarity, and sincerity. His journey in the internal arts began in 1983 under the late Master Moy Lin-shin, who entrusted him to assist with translation and teaching in the Greater Toronto Area.

With a strong foundation in both internal and external martial arts, Patrick holds a 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo and has served as a visiting instructor at the International Taekwondo Federation School in Wuhan, China. While working and living in China, he continued to study Tai Chi and other internal arts with masters in Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, further refining his understanding of their essence and application.

Ron Noronha

Ron Noronha began his martial arts journey studying Shotokan Karate in India and Canada, earning his 2nd Dan Black Belt from the Japanese Karate Association Federation Canada in 2000. Over time, his path evolved from the external discipline of Karate to the inner harmony of Tai Chi, Lok Hup Ba Fa, and Qigong.

Since 2013, Ron has been instructing at the Mississauga/Etobicoke Centre, offering classes for students of all ages, including older adults and those seeking gentle, restorative movement. His teaching emphasizes balance, relaxation, and mindfulness through flowing, meditative practice—discovering stillness in motion.

Fiona Pereira

For Fiona, Tai Chi and Qigong are non-competitive, dynamic, and meditative internal arts that requires no special equipment—only dedication, patience, and an open heart.

Over the years, Fiona has been deeply involved in sharing Tai Chi and Qigong with older adults, especially those with limited mobility, offering seated sessions at seniors’ homes and wellness organizations. She currently assists with Tai Chi and Qigong at Next Step Active Living, City of Mississauga, supporting individuals in their recovery from strokes and other physical challenges. Fiona finds great joy and fulfillment in seeing participants regain confidence and vitality through these gentle, restorative practices.
