In what is fast becoming a popular JazzFest tradition on the closing Sunday afternoon of the Festival, the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra returns to Edmonton's world-renowned concert hall in partnership with members of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra for a swingin’ afternoon of popular jazz standards and music from Canadian JUNO winning singer Caity Gyorgy’s new orchestral album, with conductors Kent Sangster and Mark Limacher.Our marquee Festival show has been a hit for everyone who loves music. Combining the energy of jazz and the rich sound of live strings, it’s a celebration of music for the whole family. Enjoy some classic songs as Sing, Sing, Sing; In the Mood, and more.
This season we excited to be joined by Caity Gyorgy, (pronounced George) a three-time JUNO award-winning Canadian jazz singer. In addition to performing, Caity is an award-winning songwriter and composes music and lyrics in the style of the Great American Songbook. Caity will join the 30 + musicians on stage for a few classic jazz tunes and some from Caity Gyorgy with Strings: Arranged and Conducted by Mark Limacher.
