About this Event
History doesn't have to be learned from books or hidden away on museums. Instead, history is written in the streets all around us and we pass reminders of it every day. However, all to often we miss it because we either don't know what we're looking at or, worse, we are too distracted by modern life to notice it at all.
This talk by Colin M. Drysdale, author of the best-selling book Glasgow Uncoverd, will take you through the streets of Glasgow and show you examples of the types of things you can discover about the city's history from its buildings, sculptures, memorials, street furniture and even seemingly random features you might otherwise pass without giving them a second glance.
While some of these are big events of international significance, many are the small, but interesting stories that really bring the history of Glasgow to life and which contribute to the story of the city.
