For decades in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond, St. Patrick’s Day at the Tee Off Bar & Grill was more than a holiday — it was a neighborhood tradition.Behind the bar and in the kitchen was Chef Paul Groarke, whose Irish roots, generous spirit, and unforgettable comfort food helped turn a humble corner bar into what locals lovingly called a “five-star dive bar.” Friends gathered shoulder-to-shoulder, pints were raised, stories were shared, and Paul’s kitchen sent out plate after plate of hearty food that tasted like home.
Though the original Tee Off closed its doors years ago, the spirit of that place — the laughter, the music, the sense of belonging — never really left Clement Street.
Today, that same address lives on as Goemon Izakaya Bar & Karaoke Lounge, a vibrant new gathering place built with the same belief that neighborhood bars are about community first.
That’s why this St. Patrick’s Day we’re bringing the tradition back.
For two special nights, Chef Paul Groarke returns to the kitchen where so many memories were made to host a Tee Off Throwback St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Dinner — featuring an elevated take on the classic Irish comfort dishes that made the Tee Off famous, including his signature Corned Beef & Charred Cabbage, alongside a menu of festive Irish craft cocktails.
After dinner, the celebration continues the way it should — with live Irish & American karaoke, good company, and a room full of neighbors raising a glass together once again.
Come celebrate the return of an old tradition in a beloved neighborhood home — where the spirit of the Tee Off lives on, and St. Patrick’s Day still belongs to the community that made it special.
