About this Event
The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is convening a facilitated roundtable to reconnect arts and cultural leaders from across our diverse ten town region and create space for dialogue around collaboration.
This gathering is a return to the Alliance’s longstanding role as a regional convener and responds to clear interest from the sector to reconnect, share ideas, and engage in peer exchange across municipalities.
The conversation focuses on collaboration at multiple levels within communities, across town lines, and regionally where interests overlap. The Arts Hub feasibility study currently underway in Danbury provides one lens for the discussion. As a Danbury based initiative with potential regional relevance, the Arts Hub offers a real time example to explore how collaboration might take shape across municipalities and where shared opportunities could exist. Danbury’s role as a regional center, particularly its cultural diversity and broad social and economic connections, has often been identified by partners as an entry point for relationship building and audience development.
At the same time, we recognize that communities across the region differ greatly in size, geography, and capacity. While some towns are able to pursue cultural districts or benefit from anchor arts institutions, others are not. This roundtable intentionally creates space to consider what collaboration and cultural infrastructure could look like in communities where those models may not apply, and to share ideas about what support or partnership could be useful or possible.
This gathering is designed as a listening and networking conversation rather than a presentation. The goal is to surface ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen regional relationships.
