A River of Knowledge third session is July 26, 2026.The UM-Dearborn Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) is responsible for the stewardship of the campus' 120-acre Environmental Study Area (ESA), which is immediately adjacent to the Fair Lane Estate. EIC Natural Areas Manager, Rick Simek, will discuss how the EIC's formal habitat management plan, first established in 2015, has guided extensive invasive plant management and native habitat rehabilitation within the ESA.
