Nina Craig, a citizen of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians, was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on a four-generation family farm. She worked for Indian people her entire career in the health and human service field at the local, regional and federal level and is now retired. She resides in Kalamazoo near her sons. Nina is active in genealogical research and writes poetry and memoir. She is a member of SwampFire Writers and Artists. Her writings have appeared in the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Annual (UPPAA) Literary Anthology, the Cereal City Review, and the Among the Happy Poets: Theodore Roethkeās Influence in a Time of Disruption Anthology.
Dawn Burns is the author of A Green Glow on the Horizon: Tales from the National Association of Tourist Attraction Survivors (Cornerstone Press 2026) and Evangelina Everyday (Cornerstone Press 2022). They are founder and co-organizer of the SwampFire community of writers and artists. While thoroughly Midwestern, Dawn also loves to travel and is relentlessly curious about people and places. Dawn's creative nonfiction has appeared in Lingering Inland: A Literary Tour of the Midwest and in On an Inland Sea: Writing the Great Lakes. An assistant professor at Michigan State University, Dawn is committed to writing and community building as acts of personal and social change both in and beyond their classroom.
