Karie Fugett holds a BA in creative writing from the University of South Alabama and an MFA in creative nonfiction from Oregon State University. She is a freelance proofreader for RowHouse Publishing and an Economic Hardship Reporting Project book fellow. Her writing can be found in The New York Times, Washington Post, TIME, Harper’s Bazaar, Business Insider, VOX, The Guardian, EHRP’s anthology Going for Broke, and elsewhere. Her debut memoir, Alive Day, is forthcoming on May 6, 2025.
Natalie Villacorta is a writer from McLean, Virginia. Her personal essays have been published in Brevity, The Offing, Hobart, and elsewhere. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Joyland, Hobart, Beloit Fiction Journal, and Pithead Chapel. She teaches creative writing at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.
