Developed in partnership with Proud Watford and Proud Hornets, A Place Without Prejudice: Creative Workshop is inspired by Proud Watford's founding vision of a town where everyone is free from prejudice — bringing that mission to life through hands-on creativity, community participation, and Watford's own LGBTQ+ history.Visitors of all ages are invited to drop in, explore objects and stories from Watford's LGBTQ+ past, and then pick up a pencil, a pen, or a brush and contribute to a growing collective display taking shape across Charter Place. The guiding question is simple but powerful, borrowed from the ethos of Proud Watford itself: What does "a place without prejudice" look like to you?
No artistic experience is needed — every contribution, however large or small, becomes part of something bigger: a shared statement about the kind of town Watford wants to be, built by the people who live here.
The day also includes a prize draw with prizes generously donated by Watford FC and Proud Watford, as well as the chance to discover inspiring local artworks and take part in open, welcoming conversations about identity, inclusion, and belonging.
Free to attend, no booking required, and open to absolutely everyone.
