An exclusive screening of the movie A Place Among the Dead, and a chance to talk with the filmmakers!
About this Event

A screening at Lawrence Hall of actress Juliet Landau’s (Drusilla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel, Tim Burton’s Ed Wood, Bosch and TNT’s Claws) directorial feature debut on Saturday, August 17th – starting with red carpet at 8pm!
A Q & A with Juliet and her husband and co-star, Deverill Weekes, will follow the showing.
A PLACE AMONG THE DEAD is a genre-bending, elevated-horror, which explores the repercussions of growing up under the sway of narcissism and psychological abuse.
The cast includes Gary Oldman, Ron Perlman. Robert Patrick, Lance Henriksen and best-selling author Anne Rice, appearing for the only time ever in a scripted movie.
Trailer:
The film’s release strategy included an extended period of Worldwide, Interactive, Screening Events and Film Festivals to build the conversation & prestige. This worked in spades!

Critics had these words to say:
“A monumental taut, psychological thriller, brilliant and compelling. I was blown away. Landau’s film is an inspired and unflinching directing effort.” (Alex Yarde)
“A riveting debut… Landau announces herself as a talent to be reckoned with.” (Kat Hughes)
“A legacy project, which will be running long after we’re all gone.” (FX Feeney)
The filmmakers set out to make an entertaining film AND to give voice to what has affected many, to open up a dialogue, which is EXACTLY what happened!
EVERYONE deals with narcissism: Whether it be a spouse, partner, ex-partner, boss, co-worker, friend, family member(s), or our world leaders, the film strikes an artery, not just a nerve!
Juliet is deeply honored to be on the journey of the film with the “A PLACE AMONG THE DEAD-HEADS” as they’ve named themselves – like THE GRATEFUL DEAD, audience members who come to every single screening event online and fly to screenings too! Landau says, “So many people have expressed that the movie has changed their lives, which means the world.”
A Place Among The Dead-Head, Martin Marshall, who is the Partnership Student Experience Coordinator at the University of West London, is producing this special event.
