was born in St. Paul, MN and raised on Tybee Island GA, where he first picked up the guitar. Educated at the University of New Orleans and National Shakespeare Conservatory in New York City, he began performing his original compositions as a busker. After residing in several musical towns such as New Orleans and Savannah, Mudcat eventually settled in Atlanta where he began his blues tutelage under numerous elderly musicians who were still living in the culturally-rich city. In addition to performing in his own right, Mudcat spent more than three decades promoting and backing these musical pioneers, organizing multi-day blues events, and bringing these nearly-forgotten artists back in front of appreciative crowds. Mudcat has recorded 15 full length albums and often tours Europe, Central America, and the US.

Born on the banks of the Mississippi and raised in Georgia, Mudcat dropped out of acting school in New York to pursue a Blues major on the streets. Eventually he graduated to Atlanta where he converted the Northside Tavern into his school of music. His tutelage continues under Cootie Stark, Frank Edwards, Eddie Tigner and Cora Mae Bryant. A world-class slide guitarist with a voice so rich it feels fattening, Mudcat's education is something you can feel right to your bones.

[Mudcat is] a tremendous slide guitarist, and most of all a God-gifted entertainer. I have witnessed him light up packed houses at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, at the Irving Plaza in New York, to open air concerts in front of 10,000 folks in Lugano, Switzerland, to sitting on a curb in San Jose, Costa Rica entertaining dozens of young kids.
