Please join us Sunday 2/22 at ZeroSpace in Brooklyn for a cinematic evening of psychedelic storytelling, film, and live conversation featuring Paul Stamets, Dr. Pamela Kryskow, Marcina Hall, and Stephen Apkon of Reconsider.
Set against ZeroSpace’s immersive ICVFX stage, we’ll be screening a curated selection of mind-blowing animated shorts from The Psychedelic Puppet Show, including the NYC premiere of a new short film featuring Paul Stamets, produced in collaboration with Reconsider, the team behind the critically acclaimed documentary “Fantastic Fungi.”
Following the screening, Paul, Pamela, Marcina, and Stephen will come together for a live panel discussion exploring psychedelics, storytelling, and the power of narrative in shaping cultural transformation in the modern world. The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A and time to connect, where non-alcoholic refreshments will be available for purchase courtesy of Hekate Café & Elixir Lounge.

Paul Stamets
Paul is a world-renowned expert on fungi, specializing in medicinal and psilocybin mushrooms. He developed the “Stamets Stack”: a protocol for enhancing cognitive function, mental well-being, and neurogenesis. He founded Host Defense Mushrooms, the industry leader in fungi supplements. Following his philosophy that “MycoDiversity is BioSecurity” he funds research to save rare strains of mushrooms that dwell within the old-growth forests. Recently clinical studies validate the powerful immune supporting benefits of mushroom mycelium. He is the author of eight books, including Psilocybin Mushrooms in their Natural Habitats (2025). He is a passionate protector of the planet.
Dr. Pamela Kryskow, MD
Pamela is a physician and leading researcher in psychedelic-assisted therapy. She is the medical lead for Roots to Thrive Non Profit, a founding board member of the Psychedelic Association of Canada and the Medical Chair of the Psychedelic Assisted Therapy program at Vancouver Island University. Her work focuses on treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, eating disorders and end-of-life distress using legal access to psilocybin, MDMA, and ketamine. She serves on the PPS non profit board.
Stephen Apkon
Stephen Apkon is an award-winning filmmaker, and social entrepreneur. He is the Founder and former Executive Director of the Jacob Burns Film Center, a non-profit film and education center located in Pleasantville, NY. Stephen is the Director and Producer of There is Another Way and Disturbing the Peace. He is also an Executive Producer of Fantastic Fungi and Planetary, and Producer of I’m Carolyn Parker and Enlistment Days, and Co-Producer of Presenting Princess Shaw. He is the author of The Age of the Image: Redefining Literacy in a World of Screens, published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux – foreword by Martin Scorsese. Stephen lives in the Hudson Valley with his partner Marcina, their dog Osa, and the flora, fauna, and fungi they share this corner of the planet with.
Marcina Hale:
Marcina is a therapist and filmmaker who is trained in many modalities from different traditions and appreciates the collective wisdom of cultures. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and also CIIS and MAPS certified in psychedelic work. She has facilitated conversations and workshops internationally and across the US and has had the honor of co-creating with many amazing people, especially the team at Reconsider. She is an Executive Producer of Fantastic Fungi, Producer of Disturbing the Peace and There is Another Way, and a facilitator for Reconsiders work”play”shop experiences, which have been held in the U.S. and internationally. Marcina spoke at TEDxKC Women about how to change the world in which we are living. Marcina’s vision is to catalyze the creation of experiences that evoke thought and conversations that both challenge and inspire new ways of relating to ourselves and to life itself.
