Piano man Wade Preston & Friends will bring A Night of Billy Joel to the historic Newtown Theatre.
Preston is known for playing the Piano Man role in the Broadway hit Movin’ Out during its nearly four-year run. Billy Joel was so impressed by Wade’s performances that he asked him to do nearly all of the rehearsals and sound checks for Joel’s historic Last Play at Shea concerts (Preston’s job title was “Stunt Billy”).
Prior to Movin’ Out, Preston was well known on the West Coast as the preeminent boogie pianist, revered for his rollicking performances, stunning technical abilities, spirited and versatile singing, and sense of humor.
