About this Event
A cultural evening of music, poetry and food in support of the people of Gaza raising money for MAP and the Sameer Project.
The night includes delicious buffet food with a nod to the Lavant.
The event is to raise funds for the following charities doing vital work in Palestine:
- The Sameer project
A grass roots donations based aid initiative lead by Palestinians in the diaspora, working to supply energy, shelter and aid to displaced families in Gaza.
- MAP- Medical Action for Palestine
40 years of supporting the health and dignity of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon
Performers:
Latifa Abouchakra - Palestinian teacher, journalist , trade unionist and vice chairman of the Palestinian APC
Attila the Stockbroker - English punk poet and activist who was an instrumental figure in the punk inspired 'raving poets' movement of the 80s and 90s.
POG - Orchestral folk punk band who have been delighting Brighton audiences and beyond for many years
Arif Najak - Eclectic acoustic multi instrumentalist and singer songwriter that has genre skipped through the ages and caught the reggae vibe to explode his freedom fighting, social conscious message.
Dirty Scavenger - Grunge folk musician inspired by her past experiences who delves into a darker side of life conveyed with twisted grungy guitar melodies & emotional, thought provoking lyrics.
