A Night for Bobby Mcginn

Bob McGinn, a true Southie born and raised, has always been the heart of every room he walks into. As a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, and husband, Bobby has built his life around family. He and his wife, DeeDee, have raised their daughter, Erin, in Braintree, where family has always been the top priority. If you know Bobby, you know he's the one who always shows up, gives without hesitation, and would drop everything to help the people he loves.
The McGinns have spent their lives lifting others up, donating, supporting, and giving without ever expecting anything in return. Now, for the first time, they're the ones who need us. Bob was recently diagnosed with myelofibrosis, a rare and aggressive blood cancer in the leukemia family. What began as careful monitoring quickly turned into urgent action. His medical team made it clear that waiting was no longer an option.
Despite the fear and uncertainty ahead, Bobby held on long enough to be present at Erin's wedding, to share that moment of joy with the people he loves most, before stepping straight into the fight of his life. This journey has turned the McGinns' world upside down. DeeDee, who had just started a new job at the VA with no Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) benefits, has put her work on hold to care for Bobby every single day.
Together, they travel in and out of Boston for chemotherapy as Bob prepares for a bone marrow transplant on November 21, 2025. After the transplant, he will undergo two more rounds of intense chemotherapy, followed by daily trips to Dana-Farber for monitoring. Doctors have told him that he will need to live in isolation for a full year to protect his fragile immune system. The emotional, physical, and financial toll is overwhelming.
This fundraiser is our chance to show Bobby and DeeDee what they have shown so many others: unconditional support. Funds raised will go directly toward gas, medications, medical expenses, bills, and everything else needed to get them through this incredibly difficult year. The McGinns have always been the first to help; now it's our turn to stand by them.
