Come join the fun and glamour of “A Night at the Oscars” as Strings Con Brio presents a nostalgic musical journey of Academy Award-winning movie scores by the best Hollywood composers of the 1930s, ’40s, and beyond. Walk the red carpet into an evening of musical brilliance from the Walt Disney Studios, the impressive repertoire of John Williams, and other talented composers, with selections from Gone with the Wind, The Sound of Music, Titanic, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Special guest artists will include Michael Bodnyk, tenor, singing “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and “Chim Chim Cher-ee” from Mary Poppins, and Greg Stead, oboe, performing “Gabriel’s Oboe” from The Mission. Strings Con Brio violinist Andrii Padkovskyi will perform the hauntingly beautiful “Theme from Schindler’s List,” and orchestra member Diana Labrador, soprano, will sing “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz and “Feed the Birds” from Mary Poppins.
