A Matter of Balance Class: Prevent Future Falls

Do you have concerns about falling? Join us in person for A Matter of Balance class! These fun and interactive sessions are all about helping you stay steady and confident on your feet. Learn practical tips and simple exercises to reduce your risk of falls and keep moving safely. Don't miss out on this great chance to boost your balance and feel more secure every day!

Dates: May 27, 2026 - July 15, 2026

When: Every Wednesday (Classes are held once per week for 8 weeks for 2 hours)

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Capacity: Class is limited to 12 participants

Location: 1820 Embarcadero Road, , Palo Alto, CA 94303

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. This program is geared for adults 65 and older and includes facilitated discussion on fall prevention and a gently but effective exercise program. Participants must be able to commit to attending all eight weeks to register and to receive the full benefit of the program.

Through discussions, role playing, videos and exercise, participants will explore ways to decrease fear of falling, increase activity level and reduce fall risks.


What Will I Learn?

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance


Who Should Attend?

  • Adults AGE 65 and above
  • Anyone concerned about falls
  • Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • Anyone who has fallen in the past
  • Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns
