About this Event
"A Long Journey Called Home" is a pianist's therapeutic coming of age story. The program first revisits the past, presenting canonical repertoire from formative years at the piano. The second half of the recital offers pieces that became newly emotionally and technically available in adulthood, ending with Missy Mazzoli's stunningly cathartic "Forgiveness Machine," originally commissioned for pianist Adam Tendler’s elegiac Inheritances project. Through performance, personal essays as program notes, medical records, and images, this recital tells the story of growing up musically and invites listeners to be part of a journey still unfolding.
This concert is free and open to the public. No reservations necessary.
