About this Event
Join us for a special evening celebrating the 20th Anniversary reissue of A Little Travelin’ Music - a vocal jazz album inspired by the timeless songs of the Great American Songbook.
Rather than a traditional performance, this event is a curated listening experience, where the album itself becomes the centerpiece.
The evening begins with rare 2006 video highlights of the original stage show that inspired the album, followed by a live, onstage conversation between Russ Lorenson and acclaimed performer Terese Genecco, who was part of the journey from the very beginning.
Together, they’ll revisit the music, the musicians, and the moments that shaped the album - including the surprising story of how the original recordings were lost, and how they were brought back to life twenty years later.
Along the way, you’ll hear selected tracks from the newly released anniversary edition, with insights into the artistry, arrangements, and evolution of the music.
What to expect:
- Archival video from the original 2006 show that inspired the album
- Live interview and storytelling
- Curated listening of select tracks from the album
- Audience Q&A
- An intimate, cocktail-bar atmosphere
Each ticket includes a welcome glass of cava. Full bar available throughout the evening.
Seating is limited and early arrival is recommended.
About the artists:
A terrific voice. Charisma to spare. A delightful raconteur. Unassuming nice guy. All true of Russ Lorenson, whose burnished tenor and magnetic stage presence have dazzled audiences from San Francisco to Paris. Over a career spanning more than two decades, the three-time MAC Award-nominated vocalist and songwriter has traced an artistic path from musical theatre to cabaret and ultimately to jazz, all rooted in the enduring tradition of the Great American Songbook. He is known for breathing new life into timeless classics, delivering every note with elegance, swing, and soul, whether commanding the spotlight in grand concert halls or captivating listeners in intimate settings. He now makes his home in Alicante, Spain.
Multi-MAC and Bistro Award winner Terese Genecco is a New York-based vocalist and cabaret artist, and a longtime collaborator and friend of Russ. Terese & her 8-piece "Little Big Band" hold the title of the "longest-running nightclub act on Broadway," having appeared as the headliner at The Iridium Jazz Club on Broadway for over 100 performances between March 2009 and May 2014. Terese and Russ have performed together many times across the US, and Terese was a guest vocalist on Russ' first holiday album, What I Want For Christmas (set to celebrate its own 20th anniversary later this year).
