Hey Coffs — be part of the bunch! Coffs Harbour is about to get a little bit bananas, and you’re invited to be part of it.
On Saturday 11 April, hundreds of locals will gather on Jetty Beach to attempt a world record for the largest banana formation made by people.
That’s right: we’re creating a giant human banana on the sand, in a fun celebration of one of the things Coffs Harbour is most famous for.
Bananas are part of the story of this city. The region’s banana-growing heritage helped shape Coffs Harbour, and over the years the town has grown into a place loved by generations of Australian families. Road trips, beach days, school holidays and unforgettable memories have all started right here.
So, we thought if there’s going to be a world record involving bananas, it probably belongs in Coffs Harbour.
The event will be hosted by Mayor Nikki Williams and Channel Nine’s Jane DeGraff, with hundreds of locals, families and community groups coming together to form the giant banana.
Be part of the moment the banana takes shape against the stunning backdrop of Jetty Beach and the Coffs Harbour coastline.
This is also part of a community effort supporting Coffs Harbour in the NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, inviting people across Australia to vote for a destination that has brought joy to visitors for generations.
But most of all, it’s about community pride and having a bit of fun together.

Time: Arrive from 7:30am. Ensure you have collected your registration pack by 8:45am
