About this Event
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll create a simple A-line skirt pattern, perfect for summer fabrics. Over 2.5 hours, you’ll learn the essentials of pattern making, cutting, and sewing, leaving with the skills to complete your skirt at home. This project is ideal for beginners and anyone looking to refresh their sewing skills.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to draft a simple A-line skirt pattern (no darts required!)
- Choosing and working with summer fabrics like rayon, linen, and lightweight blends
- Cutting techniques to ensure your skirt is ready for sewing
- Step-by-step guidance on the sewing process, including finishing techniques
- Tips for adjusting patterns for personal fit
Materials Provided:
All pattern-making materials are included in the workshop fee.
What to Bring:
Your chosen fabric for the skirt (lightweight fabrics like rayon, linen, or blends work best)
The length should be double your desired skirt length.

With over 20 years of experience under my belt (yes, I started early!) I've honed my skills as a tailor, pattern maker, and sewing technologist. Specializing in women’s clothing, and utilizing my One Fitting method, I’ve brought countless unique garments to life, turning my clients’ visions into reality. I have deep experience with teaching sewing classes around the world I am excited to bring my expertise to The Nest.
