In 1993 I was very sick and had to spend weeks in bed after a crazy night in the emergency room with an alarmingly high fever. It was a stressful time because Leonard Cohen’s “The Future” tour was scheduled to start rehearsing. I was concerned that I wouldn’t be strong enough but Leo said not to worry because he would keep an eye on me and make sure I didn’t overdo it. While on the road, he sometimes let me stay in a town while the band moved on so I could get some rest. And I would meet up with everyone for the next soundcheck.Can you imagine? As if he didn’t have enough to worry about. I will always be so grateful to this lovely man for being so good to me.
