Directed by Penny Marshall, A League of Their Own (1992) is a comedy-drama based on the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League formed during World War II. The film follows sisters Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) as they join the Rockford Peaches, managed by a cynical, drunken former star, Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks), to keep baseball alive.
