Have you been admiring adorable little crocheted creatures and thinking, “I’d love to try that… but maybe not just yet?” This is your sign!Join us for a fun, friendly introduction to amigurumi — the Japanese art of creating small stuffed yarn characters and objects. If you can do a single crochet and hold your hook comfortably, you’re absolutely ready to dive in.
Perfect for confident crocheters or adventurous beginners, aged 16+, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the magic of working in the round, keeping track of stitches, increasing and decreasing, and discovering how tiny placement changes (hello, cute little eyes!) bring your creation to life.
We’ll be stitching up an adorable apple — a sweet first project to get you hooked. (Fair warning: you’ll likely finish it at home. Your first amigurumi takes a little time while you get the hang of it — but that’s part of the fun!)
Numbers are small so you'll have plenty of support as you learn.
Please book into EITHER the class at Evanston Gardens OR the class at Civic Centre, so that more people can join the fun.
If you have a 4mm crochet hook, bring it along - otherwise we will have everything you need for your amigurumi adventure!
