For those who don't know *almost* every year, for the last decade, I've hosted a Christmas party, yes, ON Christmas! And it has historically been pretty *ahem* merry ;) I come from a lineage of Christmas tree farmers and a family that loves to host gatherings. So I will be channeling my late father to bring you all some holiday cheer. This is for anyone who has nowhere to go on this day and wants to have some fun, enjoy some festivities and revel in community.

Here's the schedule for the day:
4PM - 6PM: Bake cut out cookies, make gingerbread houses, and watch a Christmas movie!
6PM: Potluck Christmas dinner.
7:30PM: Dessert and white elephant.
10PM: Cards Against Humanity, Jackbox Games, Jenga and... I bought a "A Christmas Story" themed game - let's break that in.

*gingerbread house making kit
*2 vegan hams and one tofurkey
*vegan chickpea gravy
*vegan mashed potatoes
*vegan egg nog
*hot spiced apple cider
*mulled wine
*candy throughout the day
*a gift for playing white elephant
*Games!
*plates, utensils, cups, napkins
WHAT I REQUEST YOU BRING:%
*a dish for the potluck dinner (doesn't have to be vegan, but vegetarian dishes are always appreciated)
*a gift for white elephant, worth around $15 *alcohol or a non-alcoholic beverage to share
**if you want to be a party hero, bringing spiced rum or whiskey for the nog or cider would be so so appreciated!
**If anyone has a large cooler, please bring it!
Guests are so welcome! Friends of friends, or even friends of friends of friends... the point of this party is to bring people together and to make this a fun day/night for all :) It warms my heart knowing that I'm providing a sense of home for people on Christmas.
%NOTE: If you are not able to bring a dish and/or beverage to share, please let me know ahead of time so that I can make something so we have enough for everyone. Last time I hosted this party, we had way more people than dishes, and I had to scramble to make extr stuff so we had enough food, and we didn't end up eating until after 9 pm because of it. Also; if you are not able to bring a gift for the white elephant game, just know that it's entirely optional to participate - it's just way more fun when everyone participates. You can let me know privately through here on messenger, on the Partiful app or text.
COVID GUIDELINES: *Not feeling well? Stay home. But let us know so we can send you some well wishes!
*There will be hand sanitizer by the door. Please use it before you come in.
*Not vaxxed? Mask up. This is a vaxxed household, so obviously, we are pro-vaccines and covid safety here. But many people can't get vaccinated due to circumstances out of their control, and I wanna respect that. But please, please mask up if that is the case.
*I strongly encourage everyone to get a rapid test the day of before coming. Your insurance may still provide them for free (mine does), so stop by your pharmacy and ask.
*Unless the bomb cyclone hits, we will be keeping the windows a crack open to allow for more ventilation.
