Join us here at The Glen of Aherlow - Donoghue's at 8pm on April 22 for "The Glen of Aherlow and other Local Pubs" - a slideshow and talk by local author & historian Liam O‘Meara. With the pub itself full of archival photographs and amazing oral history from many customers, we thought it would be fascinating to have Liam put together this very special talk and slideshow. Liam will also have signed copies of some of his books for sale on the night.
Liam O'Meara : I was recently a member of the advisory committee on the restoration of Richmond Barracks and have written its history, also a social study of Keogh square and a history of Goldenbridge Cemetery, the history of Inchicore Railway Works, and a trilogy of Books on old Dublin. I also write poetry and am chairman of the Inchicore Ledwidge Society, now in its 30th year.
Books on sale on the night: ‘Who Remembers Keogh Square?’ ‘When Paddy Worked on the Railway.’ ‘Goldenbridge Cemetery.’
