About this Event

Historian Taylor Peck wrote that the Washington Navy Yard’s history is “closely interwoven with the traditions of the Navy, of the District of Columbia and of the Nation” in the preface of his 1949 book Round Shot to Rockets: A History of the Washington Navy Yard and U.S. Naval Gun Factory. For over 220 years, the history of country, Navy, city and citizens have been intertwined. Hear the stories from behind the walls of the Washington Navy Yard of the people, the service and the events that make it and Washington, D.C. a historic and cultural landmark.

This program is a collaboration with DC Public Library and continues NMUSN’s commitment to offsite programming within the communities it serves.
