About this Event
If you’ve been feeling exhausted but still find yourself lying awake at night, you’re not alone.
People struggle with sleep for different reasons. Some find their minds won’t slow down once the day gets quiet. Others don’t feel especially busy mentally, but their bodies stay alert or on edge. Some experience both. Many simply know that rest doesn’t come easily.
For many people, sleep struggles aren’t about willpower or routines. They’re about a body that hasn’t yet received the signal that it’s safe to rest.
This one-hour guided meditation offers a different approach. Rather than trying to make sleep happen, we’ll practice helping the body and mind release effort in a way that supports deeper rest later that night and beyond.
Drawing from the spiritual path of Jesus and contemplative wisdom, this meditation invites rest not as something to achieve, but as something to receive. Throughout the experience, we’ll make gentle space to notice the presence of the Divine, understood as a source of love, safety, and grounding that meets us where we are.
Through guided reflection, immersive meditative sound, and spacious quiet, you’ll be invited to notice what you’re carrying, practice placing it down, and allow the body to soften without forcing anything. You don’t need to concentrate, quiet your mind, or fall asleep for this to be helpful.
The practices you’ll experience are meant to be carried home with you, especially on nights when rest feels elusive.
Come as you are. Bring whatever tiredness you’re carrying. The invitation is simple: to rest without effort, held in the presence of Divine love.
This meditation is especially supportive for anyone who:
- feels tired but has trouble settling at night
- notices an active mind or a body that stays alert at bedtime
- is curious about practices that integrate wellness and spirituality
- is open to gentle, inclusive spiritual language rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition
Mats and cushions will be provided.
