About this Event
This class is part of our "Sarasota County Starter Kit: A Guide to Living on the Suncoast" series, which provides new residents with a range of information, from saving on utilities to dealing with wildlife, to help build happy, healthy, thriving homes and lives in this area.
Not a new resident? No problem. Each of these courses can help any of our community members, and all are welcome.
What would you do if basic services were cut off, like electricity or water, or if you had to suddenly leave your home? This 30-minute class will offer tips and ways to prepare for unexpected disasters, such as hurricanes. Learn how to assemble an emergency supply kit, how to handle your food, and other ways to prepare for emergencies. Please register for this event ONLY at ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com rather than any third-party websites, as they are not affiliated with our classes and events.
Instructor: Dr. Maria Portelos-Rometo, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County family and consumer sciences agent
