A Feast of New Art for Our Lady of Guadalupe
Calling all artists and art lovers! Join us December 15 at 6 pm for a feast new works honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe.
James Matthew Wilson has been called "the future of Catholic letters in America". He is also the poet-in-residence for Archbishop Cordileone and the Benedict XVI Institute.
Hear him read his epic poem about the miracle of Our Lady of Guadalupe from the great song cycle he wrote inspired by Frank La Rocca's Mass of the Americas (which honors Our Lady of Guadalupe). Copies of The River of the Immaculate Conception will be available for purchase or bring your own book for James Matthew Wilson to sign.
Experience "Guadalupe: the Miracle play," a new adaption of the Nican Mopohua which is the oldest written account of the Guadalupe event.
Chant together a new and beautiful Litany to Our Lady of Guadalupe which Archbishop Cordileone commissioned from James Matthew Wilson.
Food, wine, and fellowship to follow.
This special evening for artists and art lovers is part of ProjectGuadalupe2031.org, an initiative to help more American Catholics spiritually prepare for the upcoming 500th anniversary of Our Lady of Guadalupeās appearance in 2031.
