About this Event
Red Dot Baroque embarks on an exciting artistic exchange with internationally-renowned harpsichordist, Alberto Busettini. Artistic Director of Risonanze Festival (Italy) and harpsichordist at the Teatro La Fenice and with Contrarco Baroque, Alberto makes his Asian debut with Red Dot Baroque as Guest Director (maestro al cembalo) and harpsichordist in A Grand Tour of Italy.
Historically, the Grand Tour was a customary coming-of-age undertaking in Enlightenment Europe, where young men of means and status embarked on an extended journey throughout the region, with Italy as a key destination. The Grand Tour afforded cultural and social exposure–immersing a fledgling aristocrat in the Renaissance ideals of society, art, and music across the European continent.
On 14 September 2024, join Red Dot Baroque for our very own Grand Tour in A Grand Tour of Italy, featuring notable masterworks from three of the most influential cities in Renaissance Italy – Rome, Naples and Venice. Soloists Leow Rui Qing (oboe) and Teng Xiang Ting (soprano) feature alongside Alberto in this compelling programme:
