About this Event
Stewarding the land begins with respecting a place's ecological and cultural past and imagining a future of enduring ecosystem value. Walking from a former Art in the Parks project site in to the industrial stretch of Greenpoint set against the NYC skyline, we will explore the transformative power of adopting overlooked spaces in the public realm. Visiting the site of a native plant garden in the making, we will find ourselves at a literal intersection of historical land use regulations and cultural land consumption, and ground it in the context of modern-day resilience frameworks, biodiversity, and rewilding.
