SAXOPHONIST, MARCUS GARRICK MILLER, is a gifted musician and a remarkable academic, holding a degree in Mathematics from Harvard University. A former finance professional at Bridgewater Associates, he ultimately returned to his first love: music.

Relocating to New York, Miller immersed himself in the scene, performing at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, the World Economic Forum in Davos, and the Obama White House. He has worked extensively with Jon Batiste, joining him on multiple tours and appearing on the multi‑Grammy‑winning album We Are, captivating audiences around the world and establishing a reputation as a versatile, virtuosic artist.

A modern New York saxophonist, Miller's playing draws deeply from the Coltrane tradition: long, harmonically sophisticated lines; a serious spiritual and intellectual approach to improvisation; and a constant drive to stretch musical form. His focus on “beauty and logic,” his view of improvisation as a language, and his collaborations with artists in the Coltrane lineage place him clearly downstream of Coltrane’s innovations, in particular, when he performs Coltrane’s music.
