🇬🇧 A Few Rules for Predicting the Future takes its title from a 2000 essay by Afrofuturist Sci-Fi writer Octavia E. Butler, in which she calls for a grounded futurity shaped by interdependence, transformation, and imagination. Taking inspiration from her insistence that today change is the only constant, the exhibition brings together international artists whose works move between critical engagements with the present and speculative propositions. Meaning emerges in the gaps, blind spots, and fractures of contemporary reality, marked by crisis, wars, traumas and upheaval.
Rather than attempting to predict what is to come, the artists trace the future’s contours from the ground up. Their works operate as constellations; interlinked, provisional, and emergent.
Refusing coherence as a fixed endpoint, the projects in the show hold space for contradiction, tension, and transformation, inhabiting a horizon of potential that resists closure and completion.

Ispirata mill-insistenza tagħha li llum il-bidla hija l-unika kostanti, l-esebizzjoni tiġbor flimkien artisti internazzjonali li xogħolhom jiċċaqlaq bejn involvimenti kritiċi mal-preżent u proposti spekulattivi. It-tifsira toħroġ fil-vojt, fl-għama u fil-fratturi tar-realtà kontemporanja, immarkata mill-kriżijiet, il-gwerer, it-trawmi u t-taqlib.
Minflok ma jippruvaw ibassru x’se jiġri, l-artisti jittraċċaw il-kontorni tal-futur mill-art ’il fuq. Ix-xogħlijiet tagħhom jaħdmu bħala kostellazzjonijiet; marbuta, provviżorji u emerġenti. 🌌
Jirrifjutaw il-koerenza bħala punt finali fiss, il-proġetti fl-esebizzjoni jħallu spazju għall-kuntradizzjoni, it-tensjoni u t- trasformazzjoni, waqt li jgħixu fuq orizzont ta’ potenzjal li jirreżisti l-għeluq u l-stat komplut.
